Shane's gonna get Killed

For those of you out there who don't watch The Shield you are missing out on the best cop drama on TV since NYPD Blue left the air. One of key characters Curtis Lemansky ("Lem") got killed on last season's finale and all of us know who did it. But Michael Chiklis (aka The Commish) just found out that Shane killed Lem. Michael Chiklis is gonna kill Shane in the most gruesome way possible and I can not wait to watch Shane try to get out of it.

Kenny Mayne takes offense with Yum brands million dollar bonus for beating Babaro's 6 1/2 length victory last year in the Derby. I agree wholeheartedly. If they want free advertising for a bonus they won't ever pay go for the gold and reinstate the 5 million Triple Crown bonus, Visa got to ride that for many years, we had several close shots with Funny Cide, Real Quiet(where I was on the finish line at Belmont in 1997 and knew before the photo finish that Visa's money was safe) and Smarty Jones. Look at all that built up anticipation with no money ever paid. Yum bring back the 5 million bonus instead of if you beat the hell out of the horse in the final furlong you get one million.

Bias in the NBA

Bias in the NBA come on. Of course Black players get more fouls than white players they get more playing time. Lets focus on the real bias in the NBA, the fact that there are very few Black owners. I am not a big NBA fan but the only black owner I can think of is of the Bobcats. Why doesn't Al Sharpton get on that bandwagon.

Rick we hardly knew you

Rick Majerus has accepted another coaching job. This time at Saint Louis instead of USC. We all remember when he accepted the job at USC only to resign after supposedly failing a medical test. He doesn't look much healthier know. Most schools would love to have in on the sidelines, but come on Saint Louis what a step down, come on Rick.

New Discovery for ESPN

It would seem from ESPN's coverage that The Arena Football League and NASCAR were just founded. For years ESPN only gave a crawl of the five top place finishers each Sunday Night on Sportscenter, and unless someone died in a race, NASCAR did not exist until ESPN became a broadcast sponsor and now they have a daily show called NASCAR NOW.

Arena Football didn't even get crawl status until games started being broadcast on ESPN. Now we get Monday Night Arena Action and a 24/7 crawl of the scores and highlights. My prediction is that Cricket will be the next discovery ESPN makes.

Cubs Update

I am going to up my estimate on Cubs purchase price to 1.25 Billion. There are just too many internet billionaires and Chicago Fund managers putting groups together. Should be a fun process to watch.

Sam Zell has struck again, this time taking over Tribune Corp with a measly 310 million dollars. He is funding the rest through debt, spin offs and an elaborate esop. You heard it hear first folks, the Cubs will set the mark for the highest amount paid for a professional sports franchise at 1 billion dollars. The number being floated around is 600 million, but I predict a bidding war will break out and the price will rise.

The Cubs sell out almost every game and they lose. Their merchandising alone will garner big bucks. My next prediction is that the new owners win a world series in the first 4 years of ownership.
